dtmINSPECTOR
   

The dtmINSPECTOR is the official DTM Test and Certification tool of the FDT Group. It checks each type of DTM (Communication, Device, Gateway DTMs etc.) for its conformity with the FDT-Specification. The FDT Group issues a Certificate of Conformance for each tested DTM. The dtmINSPECTOR has more functions to support the development of DTMs and the work of Quality Assurance. Its comprehensive Logging and Reporting options support and document these operations. M&M Software is the sole distributor worldwide of the dtmINSPECTOR.


 
Basic properties    
  • The dtmINSPECTOR is based on the latest FDT-Specification 1.2, including the Addendum.
  • The dtmINSPECTOR is suitable for the testing of all DTM-types (Communication, Device etc.).
   
 
Development support    
  • Possibility for testing selected parts of the DTM (for example individual Interfaces). This allows for purposeful test strategies during the course of the development.
  • Comprehensive Reporting options: Each Test-step is saved in the Test-Logbook. This provides a loophole-free track-record of the test with all its parameters and results. If an error occurs, the developer will be guided directly to the respective entry in the Logbook and the time needed to locate the error is drastically reduced.
  • Support of DTM-Debugging: It is possible to debug the DTM during the test run, so that interactions can be monitored directly. This makes the identification of an error even more efficient.
  • ’Worst case’ or ‘Robustness’ Tests, in addition to the ‘Go’ Tests: ‘Worst case’ and ‘Robustness’ tests stimulate the DTM intentionally with errors or go against the specification to find out, if the DTM is able to detect this and does not resort to unspecified behaviour.
  • The possibility of also testing the function of the DTMs with the respective Hardware: with the integrated FDT-Frame-Application
  • Testing the Interoperability with any type of DTMs: with the setting up of an extensive topology.

  • Independence: The test is based on the specifications of the FDT Group. The FDT Group is also the official Certification authority.
  • Execution: The dtmINSPECTOR tests the aspects of the FDT-Specification. Manual manipulations are minimized.
  • Documentation: The dtmINSPECTOR generates an Online Document, which is directly transmitted to the Certification authority.
