Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. is one of the key production sites of the Bosch Group in China. The company develops and manufactures automotive electronics, chassis control systems, and other core automotive components. To further advance its digital manufacturing strategy, Bosch needed a platform capable of collecting, processing, and visualizing data from a wide range of industrial assets and devices.
The challenge was to connect PLCs, CNC machines, and sensors while making production data readily available and actionable for both production and maintenance teams. Traditional development approaches often required lengthy implementation cycles and limited the speed at which new applications could be developed and deployed.
M&M Software supported the development of an industrial edge platform designed to serve as the foundation for a broad range of Industrial IoT (IIoT) applications. The platform provides industrial-grade connectivity, enabling reliable data collection from PLCs, CNC machines, and sensors across the production environment.
At the core of the solution is a low-code data processing engine that allows engineers to perform data cleansing, analysis, and modeling through visual programming and modular configuration. The platform supports both web-based dashboards and cross-platform mobile applications, providing operational insights wherever they are needed.
Using the low-code development environment, engineers can quickly create custom SCADA and equipment management applications, including machine health monitoring and process optimization solutions. As a result, application development cycles were shortened from months to weeks, helping Bosch accelerate innovation and overcome traditional data silos.
The SCADA solution enables production teams to monitor line status, production progress, process parameters, and key performance data in real time using smartphones and tablets. This creates greater transparency and mobility within day-to-day production operations.
Maintenance engineers benefit from a low-code environment that allows them to build customized applications without extensive programming expertise. Real-time visualization, threshold-based alerts, and root-cause diagnostics help teams identify and resolve issues more efficiently.
By combining self-developed applications with agile maintenance processes, Bosch was able to support a shift from reactive repairs to preventive maintenance. This approach reduced unplanned downtime and improved overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), contributing to smarter and more resilient manufacturing operations.
