Inspire Workshop: How Things connect to the cloud

This Inspire workshop shows how IoT communication is established between the field level and the cloud and provides a concrete overview of the challenges of Industrial IoT.

Overview

Controllers, field devices, gateways, IO modules and other industrial devices are becoming increasingly powerful and intelligent. They are able to carry out self-diagnoses, rectify faults independently or retrieve the information required for their operation directly from the higher-level system (the cloud). In return, they send their data to the cloud for further processing. This Inspire workshop shows how IoT communication is established between the field level and the cloud and provides a concrete overview of the challenges of Industrial IoT.

Precise procedure

This workshop provides an understanding of the basics of Industrial IoT. Using practical examples, the question of how to get industrial things into the cloud will be explored. The typical protocols and services of cloud providers and IIoT technologies will be presented. Concepts such as edge and fog computing are also explained. Furthermore, keywords such as MQTT, OPC UA, Edge and Fog are explained in more detail. Finally, the relevance for your own company is assessed.

compact - goal-oriented - focused

Target group

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE (LEVEL 10 - 20)

The workshop is aimed at interested software and hardware developers, product managers, decision-makers from (device) manufacturers and interested participants who would like to gain a comprehensive overview of the topic of Industrial IoT in a compact format. The focus of the workshop is on the device-specific side of Industrial IoT.

About this workshop

The Inspire workshop lasts one day. It can be held either at your premises or at one of our company locations (St. Georgen/Hanover). The workshop takes place in a small group of a maximum of 5 participants. This ensures that there is sufficient space for direct exchange.
