We attended the AI & Data Summit and the Quantum Summit in Berlin for the first time. For two days, everything revolved around high-calibre presentations, scientific discussions and practical use cases. With a stand on site and a unique presentation by Dr Kristian Schatz, we showed how we put AI into practice.
Dr Kristian Schatz: Standardisation meets AI
In his presentation, our colleague Dr Kristian Schatz showed how standardised data formats such as Asset Administration Shells (AAS) can be linked with AI. His use case was particularly impressive, showing how AI-based anomaly detection filters data and only forwards relevant information.
- Exciting presentations and keynotes: From AI readiness to legal frameworks such as the EU AI Act - the discussions provided valuable impetus.
- Networking at the highest level: Companies such as Microsoft and SAP as well as numerous data scientists and innovation managers were represented. The scientific exchange on new trends and fields of application was intensive and opened up many untapped opportunities.
- Practical insights: In addition to the political framework conditions, the focus was primarily on the practical applications of AI. How can companies use these technologies safely and effectively to create real added value?
Key takeaways:
- Generative AI vs. classical AI: An interesting aspect of the summit was the distinction between generative AI and machine-driven AI. While generative AI was in the spotlight, Dr Kristian Schatz highlighted the potential of machine-driven AI - often overlooked but extremely valuable.
- AI Act - curse or blessing? The EU AI Act was a much-discussed topic. Despite some criticism of the restrictions, the legal framework was generally well received. Robert Habeck emphasised how important the AI Act is in preventing misuse such as deepfakes and curbing fraud.
Conclusion
The AI & Data Summit and Quantum Summit 2024 were a valuable experience for us. The science-based dialogue with leading companies and experts not only inspired us, but also motivated us to continue driving the digital transformation forward. We look forward to exciting projects and new contacts in the coming year.
