Guaranteed secure data exchange.
In the era of digitization and Industry 4.0, businesses are generating an increasing amount of data. Sharing this data with partners is becoming increasingly important. Data Spaces provide a secure and targeted way to exchange data.
This practice is not only mandated by current EU regulations, but it also offers numerous benefits for businesses, including increased efficiency and process optimization.
Sovereign Data Spaces.
A Data Space is a decentralized and open infrastructure that enables secure and sovereign data exchange. It is designed to facilitate global business relationships between various economic actors and stakeholders within a complex data ecosystem. Users of a data room can digitally conclude contracts for data usage.
By analyzing previously unused and unknown data, companies can optimize their processes and develop new business models. This not only helps them meet regulatory requirements but also future-proofs their operations.
IDSA (International Data Space Association)
The IDSA, based in Germany, develops concepts for secure data spaces, innovations, and standards for data exchange between companies. The central components are:
- The Data Provider, which transmits the data via the IDS Connector.
- The Data Consumer, who processes the data according to the provider’s specifications.
The IDS Connector enables implementation by defining usage policies for data access and creating a trusted environment. The architecture includes the Broker for data sources, the Clearing House for transactions, vocabularies for standardized data descriptions, and the Identity Provider for participant identities. In addition, the App Store offers applications for IDS Connectors for efficient execution of tasks such as data transformation and analysis.
Currently in focus: Manufacturing-X.
With Manufacturing-X, leading industrial companies, interest groups, and politicians have created the foundation for a cross-sector, decentralized data economy for the German and European industry.
In this process, the concepts of earlier projects of the Industry 4.0 platform, such as Gaia-X and Catena-X, are used and expanded.

After several years in the industry, he switched to M&M Software in 2021, where he now leads the Competence Center Industry 4.0 & Digital Twin. Through his career path, he combines both deep expertise in software development and understanding of the processes in an industrial company.
