The AAS.TwinEngine is the modern open source framework for Industry 4.0 projects. It creates and manages digital twins of physical objects based on standardised Asset Administration Shells (AAS), including applications such as the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
Our framework connects the physical world with the digital world. All relevant data on machines, products or individual components is provided uniformly as AAS, structured and ready for immediate use. This allows even complex, heterogeneous data systems and processes to be efficiently controlled and optimised.
The open source version enables a quick start, provides full transparency, is free to use and is ideal for the agile development of prototypes.
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is part of the EU Ecodesign Regulation and increases the transparency of products throughout their entire life cycle. From 2027, it will gradually become mandatory for various product groups.
With our open-source solution, you can be DPP-ready quickly, easily and free of charge. The version will be released on GitHub in January 2026 with complete documentation, sample data and community support. Simply download, install and start: the integrated database offers a preconfigured structure. You can then flexibly connect your own database or use our tailor-made integration service.
To further develop AAS.TwinEngine in a practical manner, we work with established partners such as Meta-Level. The result: intuitive operation, efficient integration and predictable scalability. This allows you to enter the world of AAS and DPP in a transparent, flexible and future-proof manner.

AAS.TwinEngine makes getting started easy: modular, open and ready to use. Create your first AAS in our workshop and use it for initial pilot projects in the context of the DPP.
The Asset Administration Shell (AAS) makes your data structured, interoperable and compliant. It lays the foundation for secure, cross-company data exchange. Let's rethink your data strategy together, with the AAS as the foundation and the DPP as the starting point.
